last days in the big apple
finally jeremy and i are here at our jumping-off point, staying with kate and her family. it has been a wonderful last few days, way up here above 200th street in manhattan. kate's mother and father have a peculiar way of making it seem like they've known us all our lives.
kate & jeremy & i had a going-away get-together down in the west village. here's jeremy & kate getting distracted on the way to the party:
a quick photo of the scene at the bar:
bob & barbara took us to an old indian restaurant in their neighborhood, to get our last fix before we leave the city and its curry behind. they have known the family that owns the place for 17 years; here's bob catching up with our waiter:
and here's a quick series of photos of kate and i. it's big so you may have to scroll around to see the whole thing:
david & kate
today we're re-packing and making plans and saying goodbye to yet another set of friends. leaving the country really teaches you how to say goodbye. but by 7:05 tonight, we'll have said our last goodbyes and be on our way to buenos aires, argentina.
